This experience significantly shaped my career and provided me with invaluable insights into both the clinical and research aspects of bone marrow transplantation.
I had the opportunity to work with patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplants, learning the nuances of patient management, graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) prevention, and post-transplant complications. The clinical exposure was diverse, and I was able to witness the impact of innovative therapies, including CAR-T cell therapies on patient outcomes.
Additionally, the visiting fellowship provided a comprehensive education in the management of complex transplant patients, including those with relapsed hematologic malignancies and inherited disorders.
